Description of Service DNS

Description
This service allows you to monitor a DNS service of a server available on the internet. A domain name service request is sent to the server and evaluated.
Form Field
DNS-Name to check DNS name, which should be resolved by a DNS server during the check.
Timeout
[sec]		 Time in seconds before a connection attempt times out.
If a timeout occurs, the status of the services is changed to Critical.
IdentifierIdentifier that should be characteristic for the service.
This identifier makes assigning services easier if you are using several services of the same type on one server. It is specified in the report and the notification.
Availability Report
OK Server responding, successful reply from DNS server
Critical Server not responding, no reply from DNS server within the timeout
Performance Report
Response Time Time, which is needed to execute a single check of the service
