Description of Service PING

Description

This service makes it possible for you to monitor through a PING command. It checks whether the server to be monitored answers a PING request.

Form Field

Warning [ms]	Time in milliseconds within the server has to respond (default value: 2000) This value has to be smaller than the limit for "Critical".

Critical [ms]	Time in milliseconds within the server has to respond (default value: 3000) This value has to be larger than the limit for "Warning".

Timeout [sec]	Time in seconds before a connection attempt times out. If a timeout occurs, the status of the services is changed to Critical.

Identifier	Identifier that should be characteristic for the service. This identifier makes assigning services easier if you are using several services of the same type on one server. It is specified in the report and the notification.

Availability Report

OK	Server is responding to a PING request within the given timeframe

Critical	Server is not responding to a PING request within the given timeframe

Response Time

Time, which is needed to execute a single check of the service
