Distributed Monitoring
ServerGuard24's monitoring services are realized by a distributed system. This means that various measuring points exist from which the service/performance are checked. The different monitoring points are selected so that flawless monitoring is guaranteed even if connectivity errors occur on individual internet routes or by individual providers.

Advantages
This procedure greatly improves the quality of the monitoring results in comparison to a non-distributed system.
False alarms can nearly be eliminated since the downtime alert is diagnosed by 3 independent systems.
What's more the availability of the entire system is increased through distributed measurements since
a potential error is detected by the system and is compensated by the other available measuring points.
The availability of a single measuring point is therefore not decisive for the
availability of the services of ServerGuard24.
Finally, this modular system allows for a continually high monitoring quality
regardless of how many servers are being monitored.
Functionality
The distribution of individual checks is principally carried out over all measuring points by
utilizing the system's measuring points.
The accessibility of the measuring points is verified before each check.
If a check does not deliver an "ok" result, the service is tagged for a repeat check.
The repeat check takes into consideration which measuring point produced the first result and the new check is allocated to another measuring point.
The same applies to the second repeat check.
Should one of the 3 measurement results produce an ok status, the measurement is completed and is earmarked again.
The status change is carried out and the corresponding notification is sent only after all 3 measurements produce the same results.
